This linen fabric is a plain weave with a twill weave woven in Japan, and is handcrafted by dye artisans in Hamamatsu, Enshu, Japan, who are well-versed in natural materials, to bring out the natural flavor of the material to the fullest, resulting in a linen fabric with "more beautiful faded colors and a more realistic unevenness."

By bringing out the best of the firm, resilient characteristics of ramie and the supple softness of linen in a balanced way, we have created a fabric that is firm yet soft, with a smooth, comfortable feel that leaves you feeling refreshed.

Distressed dyed and washed ddw®

  • Due to the uneven dyeing process, the color unevenness within a roll will be greater than usual.
  • Due to the uneven dyeing, wrinkles, creases, and uneven dyeing will be more pronounced than usual.
  • There are wrinkles, folds, and dye pools on both edges of the fabric.
  • If rubbed hard, marks (whitening) and shiny streaks may appear.
  • The color may fade slightly after washing.
  • There is a risk of color transfer due to friction. Please wash separately from other items.
  • There may be slight differences in texture and fabric width depending on the color.
  • Please note that there may be differences in color, texture, and fabric width between production lots.
  • The fabric has a front and back. When cutting, make sure you use the same side.
  • Since the inspection is done on the surface, there may be dirt, scratches, etc. on the back or around the edge.
  • There may be a smell from the material itself or the unique smell of the dye, but this will disappear with each wash.

Unlike printing uneven dyeing, our "Original 40-Count Hemp Fabric" is made using a method in which special damage is applied to the raw fabric and then dyed at the same time, so that each roll is carefully finished over a long period of time without changing the feel of the raw fabric.

 

 


Processing characteristics

Due to the characteristics of the damage dyed and washed process, there may be streaks, selvedge wrinkles, uneven dyeing, knots, neps, weaving wrinkles, etc. as shown in the image above. Please understand that these are not defects and are a natural part of the fabric.
