Natural texture created by quality materials and skilled dyeing artisans

Our "Tumbled Belgian Linen 25s Natural Dyed" fabric is made from high-quality 25-count Belgian flax linen yarn, carefully woven in the Enshu region. The plain-weave fabric is then subjected to a revolutionary dyeing technique by artisans in Hamamatsu, transforming conventional fabric production. This process results in a uniquely natural and textured appearance not found in other products.

Dyeing technique that respects nature's rhythm and minimizes stress on the material

To achieve a "natural and rustic flavor," our dyeing artisans broke away from conventional continuous dyeing methods. They invested immense time and effort, without stressing the fabric with unnecessary chemical treatments, to maximize the inherent qualities of linen. This meticulous process brings out the delicate textures that emerge naturally.

Fabric manufacturing scene

Natural Dyed Process

Natural dyeing is a method where fabric is dyed directly from its raw state (kibata), without the stress of bleaching or chemical treatments. The dye is allowed to react for an entire day and night. Taking into account weather, humidity, and temperature, the material's inherent qualities are maximized through meticulous time and effort. This process brings out subtle irregularities, bleeding, and varying shades, resulting in a natural and rustic fabric.

Characteristics of processing

Processing Characteristics

The fabric may exhibit irregularities such as bumps, scratches, streaks, selvedge wrinkles, dye unevenness, slubs, neps, lightning wrinkles, surface undulations, and other imperfections as shown in the image above. These are not considered defects but rather natural characteristics due to the nature of the material and processing. Please understand them as part of the fabric's unique texture. Additionally, the appearance of wrinkles and unevenness may not be uniform depending on the color shade.

Handling Naturally Dyed Fabrics

"Tumbled Belgian Linen 25s Natural Dyed" does not undergo mercerization (a chemical treatment to smooth the fabric surface, stabilize it, and improve color development). Therefore, it is a product with a higher degree of color fading compared to general fabrics. However, it is more stable compared to our other products like "Vintage," "Rue de Back," and "Damage Dyed & Washed."

While washing is possible, there is a risk of color transfer if it rubs against other items while wet, so please wash it separately. To minimize color fading, wash it in cold water using a mild detergent for delicate clothes.

※Please note that "Tumbled Belgian Linen 25s Natural Dyed" being "tumbled" does not mean it has been pre-soaked or pre-washed.
