Using high-quality 60-count linen yarn made from Belgian flax, we meticulously plain-weave the fabric in the Enshu region. Then, master dyers in Hamamatsu, the city of textiles, dye it slowly and carefully over time. This process creates fine, naturally uneven wrinkles in the yarn, enhancing its smooth, light texture and soft, plump appearance.

27 muted colors born from the natural properties of linen itself
By dyeing the fabric to utilize the inherent pale brown hue of the linen raw material, we achieve muted tones that further enhance its natural feel. (Note: For some lighter colors, the fabric may be bleached before dyeing.)
Kiji no Mori fabrics are created by skilled artisans in Hamamatsu, who deeply understand natural fibers. They utilize their expertise and intuition to develop the material's texture, achieve its surface appearance, and apply dyeing techniques.
Natural Dyed Process
Natural dyeing is a method where raw fabric is dyed directly, without stressing it with bleaching or chemical treatments. The dye is allowed to react for a full day and night. Considering factors like weather, humidity, and temperature, the artisans invest meticulous time and effort to maximize the fabric's inherent characteristics, creating delicate surface textures with subtle unevenness, bleeding, and tonal variations, resulting in a natural and rustic feel.
Processing Characteristics
Unevenness, scratches, streaks, selvage wrinkles, dye irregularities, slubs, neps, lightning wrinkles, surface fluctuations, and dents like those shown in the image above may be present. These are not considered defects, so please understand them as natural characteristics due to the material and processing. Furthermore, the appearance of wrinkles and irregularities is not uniform, varying with the depth of color.
Handling of Naturally Dyed Fabric
"Washed Belgian Linen Lawn 60 count" does not undergo mercerization (a chemical treatment to smooth the fabric surface, stabilize it, and improve color development), making it more prone to color fading than general fabrics. Washing is possible, but there is a risk of color transfer if it rubs against other items while wet, so always wash it separately. To reduce color fading, wash with cold water using a neutral detergent, such as one for delicate clothes.
※Please understand that "Washed" in "Washed Belgian Linen Lawn 60 count" does not mean that the fabric has been pre-soaked or pre-washed.
Year-round comfort, soft and gently draped texture
"Washed Belgian Linen Lawn 60 count" is a slightly thin linen fabric, but linen is excellent in moisture absorption, breathability, heat retention, and temperature control, making it comfortable to wear throughout the year. Please enjoy this soft, gently draped linen fabric for various designs and uses, from fashion items like shirts, blouses, dresses, and skirts.
