Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed
This cotton-linen fabric is a medium-weight weathercloth with a firm, crisp texture and dense weave, created by using 100% cotton for the warp and cotton-linen blended yarn for the weft, woven in a plain weave with increased density.
Utilizing the best qualities of both cotton and linen, the fabric retains cotton and linen neps on its surface, giving it a rustic appearance. While possessing the characteristic roughness of linen, it also has a natural texture that feels soft amidst its firmness and crispness.
By intentionally allowing for unintended dyeing variations, it achieves an uneven, faded, and aged look, creating a vintage aesthetic.

A novel concept for fabric dyeing that defies conventional wisdom, creating a realistic dyed surface
"Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" is a cotton-linen fabric that pioneered vintage-style fashion. It was born from a new concept, unthinkable in the conventional fabric-making idea of a "clean surface," by devising dyes to achieve naturally occurring uneven dyeing and a faded, aged appearance.

Dense Weathercloth with a Tight Weave
"Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" is a medium-weight cotton-linen weathercloth with a firm, crisp texture and dense weave. It is woven in a plain weave with increased density in the Enshu region, using 100% cotton for the warp and cotton-linen blended yarn for the weft.

Cotton and linen neps that enhance the rustic texture
"Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" utilizes the best qualities of both cotton and linen, retaining the cotton and linen neps firmly on the surface to draw out a rustic expression. It possesses the rough feel characteristic of linen while also having a natural texture with a soft touch amidst its firmness and crispness.
(*The appearance of neps varies depending on the light and dark colors.)

Realistic unevenness born from randomness
To achieve a vintage feel like old clothes, we leverage the natural characteristics of linen fibers and special dyes, intentionally creating unintended variations in dyeing to produce a more realistic unevenness.

14 colors that deepen in character the more you wear them
"Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" offers a nuanced texture with its uneven dyeing right from the start, and as you wear and wash it more, it gradually fades, deepening its character.
(*The appearance and expression of uneven dyeing vary between dark and light colors.)

Crafted meticulously, one by one, with the skill of artisans
Kiji no Mori's fabrics are created in the local Hamamatsu region, where skilled artisans with a deep understanding of natural fibers apply their expertise and intuition to achieve unique textures, surface finishes, and dyeing techniques.

Damage Dyed and Washed process (ddw®)
"Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" is not merely print dyeing. Instead, it involves a unique process where special damage is applied to the raw fabric (kibata) simultaneously with dyeing, meticulously finishing each bolt over a long period without altering the intrinsic character of the fabric.

Characteristics of the Processing
Due to the characteristics of the damage-dyed and washed process, there may be streaks, selvage wrinkles, uneven dyeing, slubs, neps, and weaving wrinkles as shown in the image above. These are not defects but rather part of the natural texture, so please understand this.

One-of-a-kind vintage fashion that stands out
The accidental dye variations in "Cotton Linen Weathercloth Damage Dyed" make each piece truly unique, as the intensity and appearance differ even within the same color or production lot. You can enjoy a vintage aesthetic from the very beginning, and with each wash, the fabric's expression evolves further, deepening its character into a well-worn texture.
This medium-weight fabric, with its crisp and firm texture, is recommended for items such as coats, jackets, pants, and skirts. Enjoy vintage fashion that is truly one-of-a-kind.
