Worn and returned to its rustic charm
The term Rudeback® in "Belgian Linen #40 Rudeback Half" refers to the process of using sulfur dyes, similar to indigo dyeing, to achieve vibrant colors that then return to a rustic charm through repeated washing.
(*Rudeback® is a registered trademark of Daiko Co., Ltd. and the dye factory.)

Unique texture born from quality raw materials and traditional processing techniques
"Belgian Linen #40 Rudeback Half" uses high-quality #40 linen yarn made from Belgian flax. The fabric is carefully plain-woven in the Enshu region, and then traditional dyeing processes are applied by dye artisans in Hamamatsu, a city known for its textiles. This brings out the best of the high-quality material, and it develops more character the more it's used.

Smooth and comfortable, with a moist and lustrous texture
This linen fabric, made from high-quality #40 linen yarn of Belgian flax, has a firm yet supple medium weight, offering a smooth comfort, moist and elegant luster, and an overall sense of quality.

A texture that blends in as you use it
From the start, it has a slightly uneven, natural finish, which, combined with the unique luster of high-quality linen, creates a vintage feel. Furthermore, it gains more character the more it is used.

Enjoy elegant and delicate aging (patina) in all 15 colors
"Belgian Linen #40 Rudeback Half" uses sulfur dyes.
Fabric dyed with sulfur dyes gradually fades with use, developing unique textures such as rubbing and fading, similar to indigo-dyed jeans. The color loss is not harsh, but rather a charming characteristic that allows the fabric to change its appearance with each wear, offering a sophisticated feel.

Crafted carefully one by one by skilled artisans
Kijinomori fabrics are created in the local Hamamatsu region by skilled artisans with extensive knowledge of natural fibers, using their expertise and intuition in crafting fabric textures, creating surface finishes, and applying dyeing techniques.

Rudeback® Half Processing
Rudeback® Half processing is Kijinomori's unique dyeing process that creates a vintage-like texture, as if the fabric has been worn and softened.
The raw fabric is dyed multiple times with sulfur dyes to achieve vibrant colors, without putting excessive stress on it, through non-continuous manual steps. It is then washed to finish.
Fabrics treated with sulfur dyes become softer with repeated washing, developing rub marks, creases, wrinkles, and fading, thereby adapting to the skin over time.
Handling Fabrics with Sulfur Dyes
- General washing is possible, but to minimize fading, wash in cold water using a neutral detergent, such as a delicate wash detergent.
- As fading is intended, always wash separately.

Characteristics of Processing
There may be streaks, selvage wrinkles, uneven dyeing, yarn slubs, neps, and creases as shown in the image above. These are not defects but natural characteristics of the fabric.

The feeling of becoming more familiar with use
"Belgian Linen #40 Rudeback Half" is a material that develops a unique character and becomes more familiar the more it is used. For a wide range of items such as jackets, dresses, and pants, you'll experience how it naturally blends in with you over time, developing rub marks, fading, and other characteristics.
We hope you'll make the most of its texture in your creative projects.
