Domestically woven and processed, a raised weave born from traditional processing techniques

"Antique Style Ramie Linen Herringbone 25 Count Kinoko no Mori" is a linen fabric meticulously herringbone-woven in the Enshu region. Through traditional dyeing processes by artisans in Hamamatsu, a textile town, the maximum flavor of the hemp material is brought out, resulting in a plump, thick texture with a rich, raised weave pattern reminiscent of cedar leaves.

A vintage linen feel that becomes uniquely yours with every use

"Antique Style Ramie Linen Herringbone 25 Count Kinoko no Mori" has undergone Rudeback® Half processing, which uses sulfur dyes that fade easily, similar to indigo dyeing, to achieve vibrant colors. Through repeated washing, the fabric ages like denim, softening and fading over time to become a cherished piece.

Rudeback® Half Processing

Rudeback® Half processing is a non-continuous manual process where raw fabric is repeatedly dyed with sulfur dyes to achieve vibrant colors, then washed to create a vintage texture that feels well-worn. Fabrics dyed with sulfur dyes will soften, develop crease lines, rub marks, and fading with repeated washing, similar to denim, but their overall integrity is largely maintained.

Handling fabrics dyed with sulfur dyes

Fabrics dyed with sulfur dyes tend to fade and discolor more easily than regular fabrics. While general washing is possible, to minimize fading, wash with neutral detergents (e.g., for delicate clothes) in cold water. Lightfastness is very weak, so fading and discoloration can occur not only during washing but also from direct sunlight or fluorescent lights. Always store in a dark place. If you are sensitive to color fading, please avoid using fabrics dyed with sulfur dyes.

Characteristics of Processing

There may be streaks, selvedge wrinkles, dye unevenness, slubs, neps, and weaving wrinkles as shown in the image above. These are not defects but rather natural characteristics of the fabric.
